I started running as a way of getting fit for my first trekking trip to Nepal in 2013. I started by completing the NHS couch to 5K program on my treadmill at home. When I had finished I was brave enough to venture down to the local Parkrun – from there I have not looked back!
I have recently returned from injury and I am hoping to beat my parkrun PB sometime next year – it was set 3 years ago and currently I am about 4 minutes off it (bit of work to do there!)
I love the friendship and camaraderie of CRC and the laughs we have along the way. The run leaders are just great – always encouraging!
Most memorable race
My favourite race was the Brighton 10K a couple of years ago – I loved running along clapping hands with the kids, oh, and the jelly babies being given out everywhere! I will never be the fastest but one day I will get to be the best I can be and that is all that matters to me.
Fun facts about me
I get a big kick out of running and getting fitter for my walking holidays – my next trip is to South America in 2018 (no, NOT the Inca trail!). My other hobbies include lacemaking, yoga and eating chocolate (oh dear!)
